Blepharoplasty (Eyelid Lift)

April 4, 2021 //  by NNStaff//  Leave a Comment

They say the eyes are the gateway to the soul – that may be the reason so many cosmetic products and procedures focus on them. Eye makeup is incredibly popular, false eyelashes and microblading are all the rage, and people who don’t even need their vision corrected, wear glasses for aesthetic purposes.

Perhaps that’s why people get so concerned about dark circles under their eyes – it can get really annoying to hear “Did you get a good sleep?” and “Why do you look so tired?” constantly. People look each other in the eye all the time – those dark circles won’t go unnoticed.

What is Blepharoplasty?

Blepharoplasty, more commonly known as an eyelid lift, is a procedure designed to solve this problem. Eyelid lifts can get rid of dark circles and bags, droopy upper eyelids, and excess skin on the upper and lower eyelids.

Traditionally, this is done via surgery. That means it’s a pretty intensive procedure. While unlike some cosmetic surgeries, you don’t need to go under general anesthetic, you’ll still typically receive intravenous drugs to help you relax – and that can cause significant stress on the body.

The doctor will also have to cut into your eyelids. Excess fat will be redistributed, and sagging skin will be tightened. There’s a long list of potential complications and precautions – you can learn more on Mayo Clinic’s blepharoplasty page.

Nonsurgical Blepharoplasty

All of this makes blepharoplasty unsuitable for a wide variety of patients. “First, do no harm” is one of the core elements of medical ethics – blepharoplasty, which involves cutting and potentially risky side effects, should not be used if there are less harmful ways of accomplishing the same goals.

That’s why dermatologists have developed a wide variety of nonsurgical blepharoplasty techniques. In our clinic, we employ one such technique, created by Dr. Newman himself – the Stem Cell Lift.

The Stem Cell Lift uses stem cells from your body to add volume to sunken areas around your eyelids. This makes it perfect for getting rid of those dark circles – the added volume will also tighten up the skin and improves the texture and quality of the skin. Best of all, the procedure can stimulate collagen production – this leads to younger looking skin.

This procedure doesn’t involve any cutting – it’s all done via injections. There are also no intravenous drugs required – a mild oral sedative is all that’s used. The procedure is so easy on the body that we’ve had patients go out for dinner mere hours after the Stem Cell Lift was finished. And the results speak for themselves.

So if you’re looking for blepharoplasty or another kind of facelift in Beverly Hills, consider the Stem Cell Lift. It’s a powerful way to rejuvenate your look – all without the need for invasive surgery.
